Westlake Tennis & Swim Club
will be hosting the 2007 USTA National
Men’s 45 Hardcourt Championships on June 28 through
July 4.
This is one of the four
National surface championships for this Age group. The Club has
been the site for this Tournament since 1991.
In the Singles Division, last
year’s champion was Vallis Wilder from Fort Worth, Texas. He
came to the tournament ranked as the # 1 player in the National
Age Group. David Mathews was named Finalist with Pierre Mareschal
from Camarillo, CA, winning the third spot and Max King earning
fourth place.

Fedderly capturing first in the Doubles competition. Ross Hessler
and Jon Tyrell were finalists . David Mathews and his partner
won third place.
Many of our Club members
played in the Championships. Louis Lam stayed in the competition
through the Round of 32 after defeating Club member Keith
Glucksman. Other Club players were Duane Hollinger, Dan Burrows,
Mel Sarowitz, Perry Saliano, Cy Nowrasteh, Mitch Turk, Dennis Mestas and Jim Wong.
